Terms of service
Last updated 29 July 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Keena. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not, please do not use Keena.
Who can use Keena
You need to be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract. If you use Keena on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
Your account
- Keep your login details to yourself. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Give us an email address you actually control: it is how we send invitations, reminders and security notices.
- We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication in settings.
- Tell us at hello@keena.app if you think someone else has access to your account.
What you can and cannot do
Use Keena for planning where to go with people. Do not:
- Upload content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, or infringes someone else's rights.
- Invite people who have not agreed to hear from you, or use invitations to send bulk or unsolicited messages.
- Scrape, crawl or bulk-extract data from the service, or resell access to it.
- Attempt to break, overload, or bypass the security of the service, including accessing other people's lists.
- Reverse engineer the service except where that right cannot be excluded by law.
Your content
The places you save, the ratings you give and the notes you write are yours. You keep ownership of them.
You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display that content strictly for the purpose of operating the service for you and the people you have shared it with. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where a copy persists in a backup or in a shared group as described in the privacy policy.
Sharing is the point, and it is not reversible
Keena is built around shared lists. When you add something to a group or collection, the other members can see it. Removing a member, deleting a place, or leaving a group stops future access: it does not unsee what has already been seen or prevent someone having copied it. Share accordingly.
Third-party content
Venue names, addresses, ratings and photos come from Google Places and other third-party sources. We do not verify them and we do not control them. Opening hours, prices and whether a place still exists are all things you should confirm before turning up. Your use of that content is also subject to the relevant provider's terms.
Automated features
Some features use language models to interpret links and text you paste, working out that a pasted URL is a particular restaurant, for example. These are best-effort and sometimes wrong. Check what gets saved before relying on it.
Availability
We aim to keep Keena running but we do not promise uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
Suspension and termination
You can delete your account at any time in settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, creates risk or legal exposure, or has been inactive for an extended period. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first.
Warranties and liability
Keena is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law we exclude all implied warranties, and our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or AUD $100. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. Where the ACL applies and a guarantee is not met, our liability is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of resupply, to the extent the law permits that limitation.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and for material changes we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Keena after that means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
